Dr. Ruslan Safarov, MD joined the Healthstar family in 2021. He is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the care of athletes and sports injuries. He has a deep knowledge in disorders of the shoulders, elbows, and knees.
Dr. Safarov has a deep knowledge of supporting athletes as they work to overcome injuries and regain their strength, agility, and full range of motion. Dr. Safarov completed an orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, NY where he received the 2017-2018 award for excellence in clinical research. During this time he also assisted in care of the New York Jets football team. Since then he has served as the head team doctor for a local football and hockey team in Iowa. Dr. Safarov is passionate about helping people both maintain and regain healthy active lifestyles.
Dr. Carl Byrd has been practicing medicine since 2021. He’s originally from New Market, TN. After graduating from Carson-Newman University, he pursued his medical degree at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee, GA. Upon graduation from medical school, he served in the Orthopedic Surgery Residency program at East Tennessee State University. He is seasoned in Orthopedic Medicine with additional training in Orthopedic Sports Medicine. His cross training makes him an asset to the community to treat patients including athletes and provide excellent care. He has served in the sports medicine team that cares for Morristown-Hamblen West High School athletes and supports the development and sports health of the Lakeway area students.
Dillon Gibson rejoined Healthstar Orthopedics, Podiatry, & Physical Medicine in 2023 with extensive orthopedic surgery experience. After graduating from East Tennessee State University, he pursued his Physician Assistant degree from Lincoln Memorial University. Dillon has worked to gain a wide variety of expertise through his time with the University of Tennessee Medical Center and other area medical offices.
Dr. Sebastien Demoiny has been practicing medicine since 2010. He earned his undergraduate degree at Carson-Newman University before pursuing his medical degree at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. In the four years post medical school, he completed his residency training at Temple University Hospital. Since that time, he has developed a specialty in Adult and Pediatric Foot and Ankle Surgery as well as Limb Salvage Surgery. Dr. Demoiny is passionate about helping patients regain their mobility and has spent extensive time developing multiple orthopedic foot and ankle implants. He’s an international speaker, teacher and consultant in both English and French helping doctors expand their knowledge and find the best solutions to improve limb mobility for their patients.
In addition to his time serving patients at Healthstar Physicians, Dr. Demoiny serves as the Chairman of the Board for the Volunteer Surgery Center.
